A Mindful Moment with Marjatta Moimas

Join us for a drop-in meditation session, designed to offer a mindful pause in the midst of our busy and stressful lives.

Mindfulness meditation is about being in the present moment just as it is, non-judgmentally.  We develop this skill by practicing mindfulness meditation and its variations together, with great compassion toward ourselves.

Wear comfortable clothes.  All practices can be done sitting on a cushion or a chair, standing, or lying down.

Marjatta is a certified teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through the Center for Mindfulness, UMass Medical School.

No registration necessary.  Please note:  the door closes promptly at 6 p.m. to avoid disturbing the session.

Writing Workshop – The Art of Parenting

Come join us as we look at short published pieces and discuss what makes them successful.  Each meeting features a particular theme, with a focus on helping you apply what you learn to whatever style of writing you prefer.

This month we’ll look at writing
that explores the demands and delicacy of
the parent-child relationship.

You will not be required to write or share your own work, but you will have the option to do so in a warm supportive atmosphere at the end of the meeting.

No special knowledge or experience is necessary.  All who enjoy reading and writing are welcome to attend.

Registration required:  Stop by the Reference Desk or call 508.210.5569.
