About the Artists
Stephen’s Artist Statement
It is a privilege to have a Fine Art show along with my wife’s (Donna Perkins) photographs for the month of August.
For 36 years, I have been fascinated by the great masters of fine art: Rembrandt, Benjamin West, Winslow Homer, the French Impressionists, John Sloan, Edward Hopper, and many more. At first I had struggled to see things as an artist sees. It seemed I was going in circles, always ending at the starting point after each try.
The solution to my problems were solved when I met Master Artist Jo Ellen Rienhardt, owner and teacher of New England School of Fine Art in Worcester, Massachusetts. Under her great guidance and expertise I have developed through my journey for the last seven years and am achieving for the first time to see as an Artist sees.
I draw or sketch everyday of the year to keep what I have learned fresh in my mind. Being an Artist is a never-ending learning experience that should never grow old. Coming up with new ideas is a passion that I live for and cherish.
Thanks to the Gale Free library for letting my wife and I have our own show to be displayed for the public to see. Special thanks to Alana who is the head planner for all exhibits year round for the library.

Donna’s Artist Statement
Photography has always been my passion since I was young, whether I was on vacation or capturing nature on a hike. The art of photography has flourished from everyday family snapshots to a visual fine art that is appreciated by the public’s eye.
Both in my class at New England School of Fine Arts in Worcester, MA, and in the Photo Club at the Holden Senior Center, I would try to keep three things in mind: F Stop or Aperture, Depth of Field, and ISO (International Standard Organization ) – how sensitive the sensor is to the light.
I advanced even further when I purchased my Rebel T3 camera. I am learning the many features of the photosystem that come with my iPhone 13. It is an adventure as I explore with my MacBook Pro 2024 photo editing program as it helps to enhance the quality of my photos.
A variety of colors can perpetually be shown in a photo which also displays what you feel at the moment in time.
